Programme Standards
The Certified Quality Trout Programme was developed by an expert group, which represents all aspects of the trout supply chain from feed to end product. Members include Food Safety Authority Of Ireland, the Aquaculture Initiative, The Food Standards Agency (UK) , feed manufacturers, fish farmers and processors.

The Irish Quality Trout Scheme uses the Certified Quality Trout Framework and is recognised by both retailers and processors nationally and internationally.

Participation in the Trout Quality Assurance Scheme is voluntary.

The formal launch of the Irish Quality Trout Programme on 28th October 2002. Present were left, Dermot Jewell, Chief Executive, Consumers Association of Ireland, Pat Keogh, Former Chief Executive Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Dr. Patrick Wall, Former Chief Executive, Food Safety Authority Ireland and Gerry McCurdy, Head of Professional Services, Food Standards Agency of Northern Ireland.
